I’m Still Thinking …

… about Haiti. Another ‘miracle’ on Thursday, of a 16 year old girl pulled from the rubble of her home, having survived 2 weeks trapped. The recovery and rebuilding work is gaining momentum. Keep praying resilience toward the victims, and strength and perseverance toward all those giving comfort and aid. And if you haven’t given already, the third line on our offering envelopes (OTHER…) is the way you can give directly through the church.
Of course the other lines on the envelope are very important. The M & S (Mission & Service) is our national churches permanent fund to engage in God’s work in Canada and off-shore.
And the top line of our envelopes is the fuel for all the ministry, worship, pastoral care, and spiritual formation of this church. More and more we’re also using that for the mission and caring action we do both local (poverty and shelter) and distant (Foodgrains Bank, Mexico housebuilds etc). Christ followers develop lifestyles to spend carefully, so that they can give generously. May you continue to grow in the satisfaction of being a contributing part of Jesus’ team.

Downtown Community Dinners

Wellington Square is the place to enjoy a delicious free meal on Friday nights at 6pm. Everyone is welcome.
The Downtown Community Dinners is a shared ministry, hosted at Wellington Square United Church, supported by the faith communities of Burlington Baptist Church, Knox Presbyterian Church, Port Nelson United Church and Wellington Square.
