Our Ministers

I am an 8th generation English Montrealer who grew up in the United Church. Our family had a summer estate in the Laurentians north of Montreal and our lake community held a non-denominational church service in our living and dining rooms every Sunday during the summer months. We had about 100-150 attending each week and the offering was sent to missions and charities around the world. This tradition has been going on for over 80 years and takes place to this day, although not in our house as we sold it in 1979 before moving to Burlington. I trained as a nurse and enjoyed a fullfiling career of 31 years as an intensive care nurse then a delivery room nurse. I am married for 45 wonderful years to John and we have been blessed with three daughters and now have three grandchildren living 5 minutes from us!
I am involved in the United Church Women’s group and serve as recording secretary and corresponding secretary. I sing with the Singing Strummers, out of our church, and we entertain at nursing homes and hospitals in the area. I do pastoral care visiting for Wellington Square on a regular basis to provide some spiritual support to those who are ill.
I organize and run a retired nurses group giving an opportunity for the nurses at Joseph Brant to enjoy a monthly lunch with old colleagues at various restaurants. I have served on the executive of the Tyandaga Gypsies golf group for the past 6 years and have been an active member of this group for 23 years. My interests include reading, knitting, sewing, music, flowers and travel.
I am looking forward to serving on the Board of Wellington Square and am excited to be able to have a part in guiding our congregation through the next year. With the expansion almost complete, we can now start moving forward and helping to make a difference in our Christian community as well as serving our own church family.

God is multi-faceted. People are diverse and different. We want to give people a choice of worship styles for there are as many different ways to worship the Almighty as there are types of people.
