The Downtown Community Dinners is a shared ministry, hosted at Wellington Square United Church and supported by many faith communities in Burlington. We are thankful for the ongoing support from community partners such as Partnership West, Refresh Foods, Bob’s No Frills, The Poacher Restaurant and The Martini House
We are looking for volunteers who have a heart for serving and would like to come in to prepare, serve or clean up on Friday nights. The meal preparation begins at 4:00, the dinner is served at 6:00 pm and the clean up starts with dishes shortly after.

The Downtown Community Dinners started in June 2009 as an initiative for the men of Wellington Square to become more active in serving and connecting. Dinners have been served every other Friday, and offer a meal and fellowship with the door wide open to everyone in our community.
Every Friday evening a meal is served to close to 180 friends (volunteers and guests) in the community. Various faith groups and partners in the Burlington community come in to prepare, serve and clean up from the meal. Friends enjoy eating a well-rounded and nutritious meal and connecting in with those who come through the doors.
We have two shifts for volunteering (prep from 4-6 pm and clean up from 6-8 pm).
We are also always in need of juice boxes and lunch snack donations (fruit cups, apple sauce, cookies, granola bars, etc.), which we give out to the children who attend, to help in filling their lunches at school.
