Why should I join a Discipleship Group?
God designed us to build authentic relationships. He wants us to know and be known, to accept and be accepted, to love and be loved. You will understand the Bible better in a Discipleship Group. Prayer will become more meaningful to you. You will deepen your understanding of worship. Growth happens in Discipleship Groups!
Discipleship Groups are biblical:
Jesus ministered in the context of a discipleship group of 12 disciples
The early church modelled home meetings (Acts 2:46;5:42)
Everyone can be well cared for (Exodus 18:17-24)
Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20)
Real growth is possible, especially in the fertile soil of genuine Biblical community. This is the place where hearts open to grace, where relationships heal, where sin patterns break, where connections to God strengthen. This is the place where lives are transformed. How often do Discipleship Groups meet?
Groups meet on various days and times throughout the week, often in people’s homes. Some meet every other week, some every week. Many groups take a break from regular meetings during the summer and Christmas holidays. You can join most Discipleship Groups anytime throughout the year.
How do I start a new Discipleship Group?
If you have a desire to start a new group, there is an info sheet for you to complete. We would love to help, support and encourage you with training for new facilitators. Please ask for this sheet from the church office. E-mail office@wsquare.ca: Contact
