PURPOSEFUL UNITY

“to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:12,13

I’VE BEEN THINKING…

...about Ringo, & the providence of God. The Beatles drummer, who just turned 70, has lived a charmed life. No music critics would list him among the ‘great’ Rock drummers. Ringo was always the cheerful, uncomplicated, friendly face- up, & behind the real talent. So when we analyze and ask WHY, we are asking a theological question.
Was it merely a case of ‘right place, right time’ OR did God single out Richard Starkey for unique blessings and life experiences?
What do we believe about the flow of our lives? Does God direct, and decide events and outcomes, for each person? OR are they the result of a series of random events and choices, by ourselves, and others? Tough questions…
Our lives are not divinely programmed, but God does want to work good, in all situations. Each life is complex, and complicated. Free will, sin, and the random flow of events play a part. And yet at any moment, we can seek to link our lives and decisions with God’s ‘best’ plan.
When we do that life gets simple: Say Yes when God directs, and Thank You for each blessing.
