If Only I Had More Faith!

I’ve Been Thinking …

It’s been a pretty good start to our fall around the Square. GraceLand is booming, ‘the Edge’ (high school Youth) is seeing many new teens bringing friends, worship services have seen the expected fall upsurge in attendance.
The Building Project moves steadily to completion – last wrinkles ironed out, last details finished. Despite an irritating problem with water in the back parking lot, the paving should be done in the next two weeks – nothing that $25,000 can’t solve or tile drainage and storm “catch basins.” (Lord, please help us find the money).
We have much to be proud of and grateful for. Most of the staff have been in three different offices in the last 9 months. With all the packing and unpacking, setting up in new spaces, working around boxes, and dust and noise, the regular staff and volunteers have carried an unusual burden. They’ve adapted, flexed, rolled with change and uncertainty and generally ‘hung in’ and carried on. It is a treat to work with a team like this. Bless them.
Now there’s an opportunity for us all to come together for a little planning, decision making, and fun. A Congregational Meeting is scheduled 10 days hence. Wednesday evening, October 13th, you’re invited to join and ‘be the church’ together. How are our finances? Details on the building? Choosing new servant-leaders. Thinking together about the months ahead. We’re getting better and better at Congregational meetings. They’re fun, informative, reassuring. Please join me.
