So this week we welcomed Caitlin Belanger as our new Director of Youth Ministries. She is already making connections with teens & parents. Caitlin comes to us with a strong track record of leadership with youth at Cayuga United, and at Ryerson Church Camp (near Port Dover). She has a degree from McMaster in music, and from Mohawk in Jazz Vocals. Her heart for God, and her heart for youth will make her a great part of our team.
I’m writing this from the Maritimes. This Sunday I’m preaching at two United Churches, and I’ll be in another in the evening. I was a student minister in these churches back in ’77. The people notice that I look different than when they last saw me. Something about my hair –grey? less of it?
Monday evening I taught at Queen’s Theological College. Yesterday I conducted two workshops for church leaders in the Saint John, N.B area. The interest is not in me, but in Wellington Square, the church. So I’m telling them our story, and what worked for us.
Our health and growth begins with an enthusiasm to connect spiritually hungry people with Jesus; we give people a choice of worship styles, and we rely on teams of diligent volunteers who find tasks they excel in and use their gift and passion to expand Jesus’ team.
I hope your faith will sparkle and grow this fall, either because you connect into a volunteer team, or plug into one of our Adult Faith learning opportunities.
