Many of you know that I’ve been off sick, with shingles. I think I’m about 85% recovered, but medical people tell me pacing and rest are important to finish the healing. So I’m grateful to Rev. Tom Chire, and Rob Irish, for taking the responsibility of preparing and leading this Sunday morning. Bless you, guys!
August has good things ahead. Great worship with Heather (two weeks) and then Katie, leading & preaching. There’s also two more community suppers scheduled (Tuesdays, Aug 11th & 25th). C’mon out to help out, or just eat together with a friend.
I’ll be at the United Church General Council meetings in Kelowna, B.C. for the next 2 Sundays. I’d like to say it’s kind of like summer camp for adults –only without the canoes and campfires and fun?
Meanwhile the work of Jesus’ team goes on around here. Real kids are going to real camps. Our Crisis Care\Benevolent Fund supports some special needs children. So as you come to communion this Sunday morning, I hope you can share an extra gift in that sacramental offering.
Blessings to all… ORVILLE
“Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” He answered, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you.” And he said, “Lord, I believe.” And he worshiped Him.” —John 9:35-38
