Funny You Should Ask is a sermon series about the questions underneath being human: What do I do with my life? Can we people actually change? Why do I keep doing things I know aren't good for me? How do I live when I know I'm going to die?
Each week, we’ll take one of them seriously and put it in conversation with the strange, beautiful, and occasionally infuriating wisdom of the Jesus tradition.
This isn’t because the Bible has a tidy answer for everything, but because people have been wrestling with this stuff for thousands of years … turns out, we’re not the first ones to ask.

what kind of music is there?
We believe all music can be church music and throughout the year we have a mix of praise songs, traditional hymns, and popular music. We’re working on putting together playlists for you to listen to at home of the songs you’ll hear on Sundays, the playlist we have on before and after services, as well as various playlists to help us through the special seasons like Advent and Lent. Stay tuned as we publish those!

Our services usually last about 1 hour and 15 minutes and start at 10. People come in late and leave early, so do whatever works best for you.

Clothes. Other than that, it’s up to you. Most people dress casually and others dress it up. Bottom line for us: be yourself.

Honestly? Whatever you’re open to.
During the service, we’ll invite you to sing, pray, reflect, respond, stand, sit, and participate in different ways. We do those things because faith isn’t meant to be something we just watch. They’re ways of connecting with God, with each other, and with ourselves.
But an invitation is not an obligation.
Sing if you want to. Stay quiet if you need to. Stand, sit, pray, wonder, question, take it all in. Show up as you are that day and participate in whatever way feels right.
The only thing we’d really invite you to do is be open.
Open to the possibility that something here might meet you, move you, challenge you, or remind you of something you needed to remember.

What do I do with my kids?
Whatever works best for your family.
We have Kids and Youth programs during our Sunday service, as well as a nursery for little ones. You’re welcome to check those out, and our team will help you figure out where everyone goes.
But kids are also completely welcome to stay with you.
They can wiggle. They can ask questions. They can make noise. Babies can cry. Toddlers can toddle. You do not need to spend the whole service worrying that your kid is somehow disrupting church.
Kids aren’t a distraction from our community. They’re part of it.
And if you need to breastfeed, you’re welcome to do that right from your seat. No need to leave or hide away. We also have some seating toward the back if a little more space or privacy would make you more comfortable.
Use the programs, stay together, or do a bit of both. There’s no “right” way to do Sunday with kids here. Come as you are, bring them as they are, and we’ll be glad you’re all here.

Does it cost anything?
No. And also, yes.
There’s no cost to come to church. No membership fee, admission price, or expectation that you give money when you’re here.
But the truth is, this place exists because people choose to support it.
During the service, we’ll talk about generosity and invite people to give. That money helps make Sundays happen, supports our programs and staff, and fuels the work we do in the wider community.
If you’re new, please don’t feel any pressure to give. Seriously. Let this place be a gift to you for a while.
And if, somewhere along the way, this becomes your community too, we’ll invite you to help make it possible for the next person who walks through the door.
